APSTRAKT/REZIME:
The phenomenon of historical revisionism in communist Yugoslavia appeared as a form of ideological (mis)use, as a means of disqualifying political and party dissidents. In this sense, the case of Vladimir Dedier is the most striking example and paradigm of the communist party’s attitude towards historical science, especially in the sensitive field of contemporary history. In its assessment of Dedier, the State Security Service of Yugoslavia emphasized that he was not connected to any foreign intelligence service, so no judicial proceedings were initiated against him. It was assessed that Dedijer continuously worked to deny the official version of the history of the Second World War and the socialist Jugisalvia and to revise the historical role of Josip Broz. It was emphasized that, from a security point of view, his activity fits into the long-term strategic goals of both the East and the West, in terms of internal destabilization of the SFRY and compromising its reputation in the world. Dedier’s “hostile activity” was characterized by continuity, publicity and persistence in spreading “untruths” about certain historical events and “slander” against the state-party leadership of Yugoslavia.
